Yesterday Amazon unveiled their gaming streaming device called Luna! I saw it, then proceeded to ignore it! I wasn’t interested in it and didn’t even want to cover it! However, after dwelling on it for a while, I decided to talk about my thoughts on whether Amazon’s Luna has a place in the coming game streaming landscape!

Luna, Amazon’s cloud gaming service is a cloud gaming service that lets you play games on compatible Fire TV, PC, and Mac devices as well as through web apps on iPhones and iPad. It’s currently only available in there US, with games streamed at up to 1080p with select titles streamed at up to 4K resolution! Just like Google & Apple and Microsoft, Amazon is trying to take a piece of the streaming subscription pie, once again confirming the strategy that a lot of these big tech business seems to be focusing on!

With Amazon, it’s yet too soon to tell whether they’ll capture a market or bust into flames like how Stadia did! Being a big tech corporation is no longer a guarantee that you’ll automatically succeed! However, if Amazon finds a way to incorporate this into Twitch and Amazon Prime, then they could theoretically get a big leap ahead of Google at least.
