I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing appealing to me when it comes to Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, and I’m the type of guy that likes to plays games like these, which outlines the Darwin’s theory of evolution in a game format.

It might be because I just like see things grow and I make decisions. Anyways, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a third-person open world survival game where you Explore, Expand, and Evolve to advance your clan to the next generation in this exhilarating new adventure from the creator of Assassin’s Creed. I’ve been seeing videos about this game for some time now but every one of those video trailers has left me with a less interested attitude towards the game. I mean, it’s an interesting and unique concept and I do like playing games that show evolution of something, but it seema ultimately the idea of just jumping around on trees, munching on some bird’s eggs and discovering fire doesn’t sound like a fun time to me.

I guess, if there’s one aspect of the game that slightly entices me, it’s the ability to grow a clan and make choices in your clan’s story to determine if you can survive your evolution. Other than that, I’ve been having this “meh” attitude with Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey thus far. So this next idea may piss off some of you guys but, if they included some form of multiplayer to where you can fight other player’s clans for dominance, then I’d see it as a worth while endeavor to survive a 10 million year old Africa continent. Other than that, I’m not that impressed. Visually, it looks good, but gameplay and fun-wise, there’s a lot to be desired.

Anyways, I’ll continue to keep an eye on this project but something tells me that it’s not for everyone. Here’s the latest trailer that sparked this blog in the first place.
