From the start, I never understood why developers are insisted to try and make a game that was clearly never going to run efficiently on old hardware, but CD Projekt Red finally put it to rest by showing the world that some games are not meant for last-gen! It’s high time that developers stopped trying so hard to make the impossible, possible.

Just like the new Halo, Cyberpunk 2077 tried to be as inclusive as possible, not wanting to leave anyone behind. However, by doing so, it stretches their resources thin, and they weren’t able to prioritise their efforts in the right place. This, as you all know resulted in the PR disaster that we see today in Cyberpunk PS4. Now, with all that said and done, I hope that other developers are seeing what is happening with Cyberpunk and are abandoning their foolish effort to do the impossible. Especially Microsoft. They are the ones I am most focused on in this discussion. Their obsession with trying to bridge the gap between new-gen and old gen will only breed mediocracy overall, and we saw a glimpse of that with Halo 6! They may have delayed it, but I have no doubt that the game won’t’ reach its true fidelity as long as they’re trying to bring it to the old-gen.

Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One was a deceptive lie and a horrible event that has unfortunately destroyed a lot of the goodwill that CD Projekt Red has built over the years. It should also be seen as a clear warning to just move on stop with this trying to bring the old gen into new-gen territory!
