I don’t know what to say! I really didn’t want to be “THAT GUY” that makes a big deal about this but after seeing all that was offered by Ubisoft Forward in terms of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it feels like the series that I have grown to enjoy has officially died. Actually, I kinda always knew it ended but I kept hoping for them to prove me wrong.

Now that’s not to say what has taken shape is bad or anything, however, aside from Origins, which as the name implies, is the origins of the Assassin’s Creed, the route that Ubisoft has taken the Creed series is honestly not what I signed up for! When I look at Valhalla, I don’t see any resembles what started the franchise in the first place! Now, all I see is this Action RPG game that with the Assassin’s Creed name on it! It’s honestly disappointing! You might be reading this and thinking that it’s too soon for me to make such a rash assumption about a game, but I don’t need to see any more to know when a game has lost its way!

Had Valhalla being any other RPG game with another name, it would have been great, maybe, but because this is you know, an Assassin’s Creed game, it kinda hurts seeing what the series has become! I get evolving to keep the series fresh, but I feel they’ve missed the mark with this one. I’ve talked about how I felt about the changes in previous blogs so I’m not going to go into this. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubts, to see how they’d turn a Viking into an assassin, but it seems to me they’re leaning towards maintaining the Viking aspect with a hint of an assassin, which is not what I want!

Valhalla is not an Assassin’s Creed game, not to me at least! Not anymore!
