There’s so many games coming or possibly coming in 2019, so I thought I’d share my list of games I’m looking forward to in 2019. There’s a good chance you’ve probably haven’t heard of them too.

Ghost of Tsushima

OK, to be fair you’ve probably have heard of Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Tsushima is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and it’s based on the fearsome Mongol Empire invasion the island of Tsushima in 1274. What I like about this game is the setting and the realism that Sucker Punch seems to go with. You play as one of the last surviving samurai as you rise from the ashes to fight back. The gameplay offers a range of ways to tackle missions in the game and the combat and traversing looks dope. Plus, I’m a fan  of historical events, even if they tend to be fictional. The game currently has no release date, but I feel like it might drop in 2019. Fingers crossed.

Draugen

Draugen is a single-player, first-person Fjord Noir mystery set in 1920s Norway. Boosting a realistic and dynamic dialogue system with a living, breathing, independent companion, on top of looking fanatic is a game that I’ve been keep an eye out for in 2019. You play Edward Charles Harden, an American traveller who’s come to Norway to find his missing sister. But you’re not alone: at every step of the way, Edward’s accompanied by his ward, Lissie; a gregarious, independent and enigmatic young woman. Together, you must explore this scenic coastal community — nestled amongst the fjords and mountains of rural Norway — in your search for Edward’s sister, and unearth the darkness that lies beneath the picturesque surface. It has that mystery element to it that I tend to gravitate towards so it’s worth checking out.

Greedfall

GreedFall is a brand new RPG, set in a fantasy world with magic, adventure, and 17th century weaponry. The reason why I’m interested in this title is it’s decision-making mechanic and reminiscences of Fable games. You know, when you make a decision, that decision impacts the world and the story overall. The game is said to have over 15 different endings so that alone was enough to put the game on my radar. GreedFall is an RPG at its core: It follows our experience in building intricate worlds filled with mysteries to discover. Your actions, from seemingly trivial choices to the most important political decisions, will influence and affect its course and that’s what’s been missing with some of these games. I really hope the live up to that promise with this title.

DAEMON X MACHINA

OK, I’m definitely sure that most of you have heard of this game right? Daemon X Machina is an upcoming mech action game developed by Marvelous and First Studio. It’s essential described as a Nintendo Switch title with the strategy of a mech game at the speed of an action game! It looks really fun and the customization looks to be very in depth as well. Whether this game live up to the hype that I’ve built remains to be seen but I do believe it’s worth keeping an eye out for if you’re looking for a new IP.

Project Awakening

Next up is Project Awakening. Project Awakening is an all-new action RPG featuring cutting edge graphics and a high fantasy setting. We don’t know to much about this game but I was very impressed with the short demonstration they show us back in E3. From the way the dragon-like monster traversed across the terrain to the detail of the environment, I was impressed with it all. I really hope we learn more about this game in 2019.

Squadron 42

Lastly, I wanted to mention this game, simply because since I actually crowd-funded Star Citizen, to an extension I will be playing the story mode of Star Citizen called Squadron 42. Squadron 42 is a story-based single-player campaign set in the Star Citizen fictional universe described by the developers as a “spiritual successor to Wing Commander”. There’s a lot of promise for this single player game. It’s an interactive storyline that centers on an elite military unit and involves the player character enlisting in the United Empire of Earth Navy, taking part in a campaign that starts with a large space battle. Your decisions will impact the story and the visual of course look extremely amazing. Plus, some prominent actors have been confirmed for this game so you know the acting is about to be stellar at least.

And that it. There’s a ton of more games that I’m really looking forward to in 2019 but these are the ones most surrounded in mystery. Let me know your top 5 games in the comments below.
