Look, before you come for my skin you gotta admit, the new animation and that theme song really synced well together. If I was a kid again, I’d probably be extremely hyped to see that theme song come up on TV every single time.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an upcoming American 2D-animated television series based on the fictional superhero team. Is set to debut in September 2018.  This re-imagined series will have the Turtles go on new adventures as they seek to unlock the mystical secrets of New York City.

Yesterday, Nickelodeon decided to share the new theme song with us, along with the opening cut-scenes to really get a vibe for what this new cartoon series will be about. For the most part, I think it’s cool.

It’s clearly aimed for a different demographics and unlike most other series, the turtles have gone through a lot of re-imagined and designs over the years but still managed to keep the core essence of the series alive. Literally almost every generation has their own favorite TMNT versions and none are inherently bad.

The only, and I mean only gripe I have with this new designs is Raphael’s design. They hit this man with the “Knuckles” stick. I get that they’re trying to capture every turtles personality with the designs but I’ve never being a fan of over-sized muscular types in cartoon so we will just have to see. I can only hope that they’ve kept Leonardo’s cool attitude. If the animation from that intro is anything to go by the I have nothing to worry about….hopefully.

Let me know your thought on the new intro.
