Yep! You read the title right. Apparently, rumour has it that DC comic is hard at work creating a brand character who happens to be Black and is going to be taking up the mantle of Batman. Now, this is something alright, and I don’t even no where to begin.

According to the rumors reported BleedingCool:

The summer of 2020 leading into 2021, DC Comics is planning to bring us a black Batman. Not Bruce Wayne, but someone else donning the cowl and cape.

When it comes to Batman, many have dawned the dark mantle in pursuit of justice so this isn’t something new. From Azrael, Nightwing  to Damian Wayne and Terry McGinnis. However, aside from Batwing, no black character has outright declared themselves to be THE Batman. And, at least they’re not race-bending Bruce Wayne (I know that would’ve led to a shitstorm online.) No, this guy will be a brand new character, how they’ll tell the story of him getting the costume is still unknown but it should be interesting at least.

Look, I’m wary for this just been another token character but playing’s devil’s advocate here, it might lead to something cool if handled correctly! The dumb thing here would be to react based on next to nothing. it could be a Batman from another universe, could be Batman is out of commission due to an injury and with the Bat-Family out on mission, the only other person that Bruce can trust just happens to be Black, thus leading to a natural claim to the title for a short time. I just hope his entire stick isn’t going to be revolved around him being black. A few commentary here and there is fine but you know, keep it to a subtle limit. We’re to see action, detective shit and well, more action and heroism.

Anyways, what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below.
