OK, I know that Game of Thrones Season 8 was clearly rushed and as a result of that turned out bad in general, nevertheless, to petition for a re-shooting or remake of an entire season of GoT, we’re talking about 10 hours+ worth of content here, all because Daenerys burned down a kingdom and didn’t develop the way you wanted her to develop (among other stuff in that episode) is damm near idiotic.
So if you’re unaware of what’s going on, an online petition, which was started on Change.org by Dylan D, titled “Remake ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 with competent writers” claims that fans of the smash-hit show deserve “a final season that makes sense.” I mean, I understand that the last few episodes didn’t make any sense but this just screams entitlement if I’ve ever seen it.
It’s too late at this point. There’s nothing you can do about it. We can criticize the season to kingdom come, but it’s over. We are at the end of this story called Game of Thrones and despite how horrible the pacing was and how we were robbed of our opportunity to see Cersei suffer for her crimes, we can’t changed it anymore. That petition that has garnered over 400,000 signature and growing is beyond stupid.
The cost it would take to re-shoot an entire season from scratch is astronomical. I don’t think people have fathomed just what they’re asking HBO to deliver. People need to suck it up and deal with it now. I too wanted to see Cersei suffer, Tyrion get his revenge, Jon actually do something and many more, like see an actual war span two episodes but we can’t all get what we want. If you walked into a movie and 2/3 of the movie was great but the ending ended up been incredible stupid, are you really going to ask the director to shoot the entire movie again because it didn’t play out the way you wanted? No, you’ll criticize it, warn other not to see it and carry own with your life.
If GoT was a movie and you somehow knew how the story was going to play out, you could easily avoid it, however because this is a series of a tv show, there’s nothing you can do about it. Unless you all are willing to donate a $1000 each to help them redo the season, accept it and move on.
