Late to the party what else is new with me. After seeing this image of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 1 – Cruelty floating around, I decided to check out this new anime and I’m happy that I did.To give you guys a quick synopsis:

Since ancient times, rumors have abounded of man-eating demons lurking in the woods. Because of this, the local townsfolk never venture outside at night. Legend has it that a demon slayer also roams the night, hunting down these bloodthirsty demons. For young Tanjirou, these rumors will soon to become his harsh reality…

Ever since the death of his father, Tanjirou has taken it upon himself to support his family. Although their lives may be hardened by tragedy, they’ve found happiness. But that ephemeral warmth is shattered one day when Tanjirou finds his family slaughtered and the lone survivor, his sister Nezuko, turned into a demon. To his surprise, however, Nezuko still shows signs of human emotion and thought…

Thus begins Tanjirou’s quest to fight demons and turn his sister human again.

I will have to say, the visuals and animation style of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 1 was amazing. I liked the premise and the idea behind man-eating demons who only come out at night. They might be vampires but that’s to soon to tell. The OST was astounding and really brought the feel and  vibe to the episode. Looks like I found another possible great anime to review. And judging from the tactical display that Tanjirou showed as he faced off against Giyuu and Giyuu badass persona, we might be in for some epic fights.

Overall, I’m impressed with the first episode and I’m looking forward to the next one.
