The Walking Dead has been going on for over 8 years now, spanning over eight seasons.  I was a huge fan of this show and I’d talk about it all the time with my friends. However somewhere in this last two years, I’ve completely stopped watching the series. Today I want to discuss this with you guys and see if this relates to you as well.

To tell you the truth, I got bored of it. Unlike most of the fan-base, I joined the WD hype train too late and had to play catch up.

When I first started watching the Walking Dead, I binged watched the seasons. It was an epic, butt-clenching goodness of wondering how Rick and the other were going to survive and get over tough situations. Naturally like anyone else, I had my favorite character, Glenn. I clicked with him and wanted him to survive to see an happy ending. I even once joked that I’d quit watching the show if anything ever happened to him. To my surprise I wasn’t the only one who felt like that. When they pulled that fake Glenn death, everyone lost it, including myself. He was an OG and definitely a fan favorite.

Anyways, after finally catching up to the latest episode, I had to endure does cliffhangers and oh boy was I not ready for them. After the privilege of binged watching it, I was subjected to weekly torture. This led to my interest waning over the course of the series. Soon, most of my favorites got killed off and the plot seemingly felt like it wasn’t going nowhere. It wasn’t long till I fell off and stopped watching the series.

I believe what caused it was the constant cliffhangers I had to go through. That and the plot felt like it wasn’t going anywhere in my opinion. It felt like it was dragging longer than it should and that’s hurting it overall. I will eventually go back and finish the series I started 5 years ago but right now I  just don’t have that same itch like I used to.

Let me know your experience with TWD.
