I mean, it’s in the title. Phil Spencer out of nowhere decided to drop the spec for the next gen console in a blog post.
This is very interesting, albeit a bit concerning. Microsoft has confirmed that their upcoming next-gen console, the Xbox Series X, won’t be launching with exclusive games only playable on the new hardware. If I’m understanding this correctly, then what is the actual point of buying this new console.
With the new gen consoles about to hit the shelves in 2020, believe it or not, my eyes has been more focused on the Xbox side as opposed to the PS5 or Switch. The simple reason being is that I have full confidence that PS5 and Switch will deliver, whereas the Xbox has yet to prove itself. Basically, I have no faith in the Xbox, and so those everyone else.
With the new Xbox Series X been revealed and PS5 coming out in holidays 2020, both of which packing major horsepower under the hood, one has to wonder just how much these next gen consoles will be at launch? And how much is too much?
