Why did Dr. Disrespect get banned? That’s the million-dollar question. The whole gaming community is at a loss when they learned of Dr. Disrespect’s sudden permaban of Twitch. While everyone is trying to figure out WHY he got banned, I want to focus your attention on another matter. And that matter is HOW EASY it was for DR. Disrecpetc to lose everything with a click of a button!
Wait, hear me out here! I know the title sounds a little simp-like but I’m looking at this from a logical point of view. Alinity has violated the terms of service of Twitch, true, but at this point, she’s no longer to blame for the lack of suspension/ban. We have to take our annoyance towards Twitch.
So yet another streamer decided to drop the N-word, with the hard R mind you and gets his career shutdown. However, this one is especially funny to me because it comes from Kyle Larson, an American race car driver of Japanse decent who the face sort of for Diversity’s Drive for Diversity (D4D) in his career.
I’ve heard whispers in the wind that Microsoft’s Mixer, a video game live streaming platform has been on thin ice over the past few months now. Now there are reports that not even the team at Mixer are feeling too sure of the platform’s future.
Now, some might say because I don’t partake in the Twitch streaming endeavor, I shouldn’t be voicing my opinion on this matter, but I feel like I have to in this case as I’ve seen more and more people risk their health and well-being for a unstable career path that will ultimately lead to pain and suffering. And making it seem like this pain being endured is a good thing, neglecting the ramification to one’s health.
As someone who streams from time to time as a way to relax and chill with some like-minded folks, I like to keep up with what’s happening with these streaming platforms. I mean, to most people, this is their future when it comes to media consumption. As of late Twitch has been stirring up the pot with advertising Ninja’s Twitch Channel on other streamers page, and as you can imagine, that did not sit well with them at all. However, are they in the wrong?
Confused by the title? Don’t worry I’ll explain myself in this blog, just know that YouTube has lost their damm mind with their handling of push notification for subscribers.
With Black History Month still been in full effect, I decided to highlight some content creators, both on YouTube & Twitch that I feel you guys might like to check out. I think its important to spread some positive energy and help each other grow. Even if my reach is small, if one person checks out at least one of the creators mentioned below, then that’s a job well done!
Esports has grown extremely rapidly over the past few years, with more and more people participating in tournaments or watching it livestreams on Twitch. It is a medium that many still aren’t able to grasps its relevance and have instead shunned the idea of it ever being a legitimate career path or even a “real” sport. But when the Esports scene is racking up major stacks, with the European market alone estimated to be worth $209 Million, it’s time to really take Esports more seriously, both as a business platform and as an entertainment platform.
