So yet another streamer decided to drop the N-word, with the hard R mind you and gets his career shutdown. However, this one is especially funny to me because it comes from Kyle Larson, an American race car driver of Japanse decent who the face sort of for Diversity’s Drive for Diversity (D4D) in his career.
There are many fanbases out there that are passionate about their respective IP’s, but as far as I am concern, none are as passionate as the Sonic Community when it comes to creating fan-based projects of their favorite blue hedgehog. This time, we have SONIC X REANIMATE, a 17 months production that brings together animators and illustrators to reanimate the 5th episode of the Sonic X series, “Cracking Knuckles”.
Once in a while, I like to showcase works that I come across the internet. Whether recent or not, it matters not as there’s always someone out there who hasn’t see it yet. Today, I want to highlight Malika – Warrior Queen, an animated series by YouNeek Studios.
First off, yes! Yes, it is a slow news/discussion day for sure! However secondly, I wanted to discuss how people have reacted towards MatPat’s latest video, it which he discusses the Coronavirus in a well, let’s say not the most tasteful approach given the current circumstances. I also wanted to highlight the slight hypocrisy of everyone else.
Never thought I’d see the day when Star Wars would pull a J.K. Rowling and retcon random aspects of the trilogy to save the franchise from mediocracy. And to think, this could all have being avoided had they just respected the source material, the creator and the fans. You hate to see them like this.
Artemis Fowl, a series about an anti-hero boy genius has been warped by Hollywood into something entirely different than the source material, once again bringing up the question as to why it’s so difficult for Hollywood to just be faithful to the source material.
I had my fun poking at the whole Bird of Prey vs Sonic nonsense on Twitter but now, I think we need to start having a big look at ourselves and ask, how we got to a stage where movies that are meant for escapism, now became tools to fight this political war that ends up hurting everyone.
I tried so much to avoid talking about this Sonic vs Birds of Prey nonsense for so long, as this type of behavior is not something I condone, but it’s getting out of hand. Instead of celebrating that we got not only a good Sonic movie for kids to enjoy, but we also got a second great video game adaptation too.
Could the mid-credits in the new Sonic movie be hinting at a Sonic Cinematic Universe, a SonicVerse if you will? Well, I think so, and so do many others who’ve seen the movie.
