Another day, another indie game caught my eye. It seems I stumbled upon the most interesting indie games on Twitter these days. Anyways today, we’re looking at V.A Proxy, a came about a decaying world filled with robots.

V.A Proxy is an open-world Metroidvania with a fast-paced action RPG combat like Nier, it follows the story of the three last machines of their kind as they fight the corrupt-ridden world and unravels the fate of their makers to decide the future of all remaining life forms. As time passes, the world continued to devolve into a further state of decay, as the corruption sept to every corner many machines lost hope, their gods forsaken them and they succumbed to corruption. S-units, very powerful, very unstable type of machines finally got awakened, however, with no memory nor purpose, they made it their goal to “remember” and seek the buried truth of this dilapidated world.

Key Features:

  • Fast-paced combat: fight hoards of enemies at a breakneck speed, S-Units are defective fighting mechs that are extremely fragile yet cause massive damage with their speed and attack power.
  • Mix of melee and ranged combat: with the aid of your support mech V-Units, you have a wide variety of close-range and long-range attack options for any combat situation.
  • Seamless Hand-Crafted Open-World: Take a moment off fighting and enjoy the beauty of the decaying world as corruption paint breathtaking scenes that tell stories of a long-gone era.

What convinced me to check the game out was this Twitter post that I came across. This join straight looks like anime with the way he was bobbing and weaving those missiles:

The game looks a bit rough around the edges I will say but I do see potential in it if the devs are serious about polishing the game up. You can wishlist the game on Steam right now.
