Another day, another indie game showcase. This time I’ll be introducing you all to THREADS OF TIME, a turn-based JRPG inspired by Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy

Very little is not about this game, so I did my best is searching the internet for all the information I could find. Aka, I went to their discord. From what I gathered, Threads of Time (ToT) is a turn-based JRPG inspired by their childhood favorites, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy. It’s a love letter to the memories they made growing up and our way of passing the buck.
The gimmick here is that you’ll travel the ages with your party from the early prehistoric era to the far future. It’s a modernized 2.5D pixel art adventure (graphically, think Octopath Traveler or Dragon Quest III Remake) built in Unreal Engine 5. Also, it’s this timeline’s last hope. If the gif below is any indication of what the game will look like, then it’s one to definitely keep an eye out for. They recently introduced a new character called Aria, one of the many characters you’ll be able to play.

They’ve been working on the game for over two years, so we might be a little ways off before we see a release date, however, the team based in Toronto has a website and a Discord available so if you’d like to stay up-to-date with the game’s progress, that’s the place to do it.
