It’s time to have a talk regarding the weird mob mentality that’s occurring around Hogwarts Legacy, the upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros! Regardless of J.K. Rowling’s opinions, wanting to buy Hogwarts Legacy does not mean that you are a transphobic person!
I have been seeing a discourse (one that I honestly was expecting), of people making the claim that, by buying the new Hogwarts Legacy, you are in support of J.K. Rowling’s opinions of transgenders. Now, I am not here to say whether I agree or disagree with what J.K Rowlings has said over the past few yes (mostly because I haven’t been paying attention too much to the recent stuff she may have said), but the idea that you are forced to not purchase a game because it’s “immoral” is kinda foolish!

To say that buying the game is empowering J.K. Rowling is just plain stupid. It’s a moral high ground that is not worth fighting for, because if you truly feel that way, then please stop using Amazon, which exploits its workers on a day-to-day basis, stop buying iPhones that exploit workers in third-world countries. paying them abysmal wages, and so on. Asking…no, threatening, shaming, and demanding people to not buy the game, will only make them want to buy the game even more!
Every person has a right to determine whether or not their want to purchase any product. If you feel that way, cool, but to try and influence others and gaslight them is foul and it won’t end well for the community as a whole.
Not only that, it won’t even affect her at all, so you’re just wasting your time!
