In news we didn’t expect but is welcomed, it seems Sonic Studio’s Takashi Iizuka let one too much information slip during his interview with Famitsu!

In a year-end column with Famitsu, Takashi Iizuka narrowed the release window for WildBrain’s Sonic Prime animation to debut this coming fall on Netflix. The animated series is scheduled around or before Frontiers, which was scheduled for a holiday release date of either November or December. He also talked about how he was very close to making an anime of Sonic Prime instead.

Honestly hearing that, I’m glad he didn’t go with the anime route, as oftentimes, especially with Netflix, they haven’t impressed me with the quality (thinking of Record of Ragnarok)! I might be one of the few Sonic fans out here but I prefer to see a 3D animated Sonic show, akin to the Unleashed intro than an animated one, but that’s just me! Let me know what you guys think!
