Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an upcoming 2022 action role-playing game developed by Game Freak that offers a new kind of grand, Pokémon adventure. It’s doing something that fans have been asking Nintendo for years now, going full 3D! However, I’m unimpressed by the results!
The more I see of Pokémon Legends: Arceus gameplay, the more I am reminded that Game Freak is refusing to push the quality of Pokemon games to the next level of polish. It’s not just the graphics that I have an issue with, but the animation in Pokémon Legends: Arceus feel janky and outdated for a 2021 game. I’m not looking for top-tier graphics in a Pokemon game, but if Breath of The Wild can look amazing in 2017, then I’m sure Game Freak can do more to polish up the game.
The idea and mechanics of Pokémon Legends: Arceus seem fun but the overall presentation is just jarring to me. I’ve been begun contemplating skipping this title altogether. I’m sure fans will try everything to justify this new Pokemon game and its current state but for now, I’ll be paying very close attention to see if this game takes a drastic turn for the better. Likely not but one can hope.
