I’m sure you’ve heard (or likely haven’t) about the cancellation of the live-action PowerPuff Girls movie after the script got leaked. The leak showed us a pretty terrible script, so bad that the Live-Action Powerpuff Girls had to be reworked!

The same thing happened with the 2016 Ghostbusters remake, pre-Sonic The Hedgehog movie, Dragon Ball, Avatar The Legend of Aang, Death Note and so many more. Hollywood, whenever it decides to do a Live-action on original well-received content, no matter how great the source material was, no matter how fans have given their clear admiration, some directors always think they can do better with their own “take”!
Powerpuff Girls is an American superhero animated television series created by animator Craig McCracken that revolves around the adventures of three kindergarten-aged girls with an array of various superpowers: Blossom (pink), Bubbles (blue), and Buttercup (green). I’m not going to bag them for wanting to age them up (still don’t know why or who they were aiming this new version at) but America and their obsession with high school life and the contents that come with it seem to really be bottling their ability to tell a story! Also, isn’t it ironic that American writers are attacking Japan for how their portrayal of girls in anime, yet ALWAYS choose to take a wholesome TV show and introduce raunchy content? Just saying! Check the script below:
Someone apparently leaked the script for the new Powerpuff girls movie.

They talk about sharing eachothers nudes… walk in on eachother while they have sex… and… a lot more.
Fire everyone who is working in this and start over. pic.twitter.com/RmtYNUCcN8
Thank goodness it’s being scrapped! I mean my God, what were they thinking? Seriously, was it that hard to tell a kids show, meant for kids, likely consumed by kids, for kids? When it comes to a moral high ground, Hollywood sure has no ground to stand on! I don’t want to say it, but it seems they were trying to use the PPG live action as a means for, and I air quote “female empowerment and liberation”, you can read between the lines. Sugar. Spice. And everything nice sure has a whole new meaning! What are your thoughts on this? Sound them off in the comments and lets talk!
