Bruh, ever since Netflix brought all the seasons for Avatar: The Last Airbender to its platform, the debate between Avatar: The Last Airbender vs The Legend of Korra has been raging on for days now. It’s all pointless!
Look let me say this, The Legend of Korra is NOT a bad series. It never was! It has its own pros and cons and overall was a good series. However, the moment you start to compare it to the Avatar: The Last Airbender, that’s when it’s a lost cause. Avatar: The Last Airbender started the series, it had a dominated claim in many people’s childhood, had a strong narrative, memorable cast, and overall is considered a masterpiece by some fans. This was the series that started the anime or cartoon debate back in the day. It left a MASSIVE shoe to fill, and quite frankly, these shoes were impossible to fill up by Korra.
Now if you ask me, I will without a doubt say that Avatar: The Last Airbender is better, however, I would not claim that Korra’s run was bad by any means. It had a rocky start, Nickelodeon messed up its schedules, it was constantly compared to its predecessor, and to be fair it didn’t really add much to the world of the Avatar, and to some people, took away the mystic atmosphere of the world. You can enjoy Korra, in fact, there were seasons that I thought were pretty damm cool and had so really epic fights, but it wasn’t for me overall. I understand the people who defend the series and rightfully so. It’s been unfairly compared to a series that has set a standard so damm high, it might as well be in a league of its own.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is better than The Legend of Korra, but that doesn’t mean that Korra is bad by any means. It’s just punching above its weight class. That’s all I got to say on the matter. You can have your preference and that fine. However, denying the truth won’t help! How about we appreciate both and just accept reality!
Anyways let me know what you guys think?
