You know, with the whole Coronavirus thing becoming a pandemic, you’d think more people would start to take it more seriously, but nope! As it turns out the younger generations (Americans Gen Zs to be precise) are not taking this pandemic seriously enough and it’s really frustrating to observe.
This is out of the realms of what I usually talk about here but I wanted to share my thoughts on what I’ve observed over the period of this pandemic.
The Coronavirus has effectively shut down the world. Everyone is forced to work from home, people have lost their lives of this, we are on the verge of a recession and yet why is it that when I turned on the news, I hear Miami’s beach is full of people, going on about their business and disregarding the well-being of those around them? It’s unfair for the rest of us who’ve taken it upon themselves to self-quarantine in order to protect each other.
I want you to watch this video and see for yourself the difference between how Paris one of the most touristic cities in the world is taking the Coronavirus threat and how Clearwater Florida is dealing with it so that it doesn’t lose tourism revenue during spring break #Covid_19 pic.twitter.com/CbUCf1VZ2r

If everyone plays their part in isolating themselves, we can curb this virus much sooner, but if the younger generation, particularly the young Americans of the Gen Z population continue to be this reckless in the face of a pandemic, then we won’t be any sooner to stopping the spread of this virus. I’m not a health expert, just like the rest of the world, I too am listening to the advice of the WHO!
Stay safe out there and please do call out your fellow peers who are not taking this matter seriously. If not for yourself then for your neighbor!
