Aside from the Assassin’s Creed series, the Prince of Persia franchise was a well renowned series among fans, aka me, I’m fans. Look I just want a remake of the Prince of Persia TRILOGY on the PS5, PC and Xbox Series X.
For those of you who may not have been aware of this series, Prince of Persia is a video game franchise created by Jordan Mechner, originally developed and published by Brøderbund, then The Learning Company, and currently Ubisoft. The franchise is built around a series of action-adventure games focused on various incarnations of the eponymous prince from Iran. In fact, Assassin’s Creed was inspired by the Prince of Persia, so you all better put some damm respect on the Prince’s name.
Just to be precise, the games I’m referring to, which in turn are the most successful and well recognized ones are The Sands of Time, Warrior Within & The Two Thrones.
Growing up I used to enjoy playing the trilogy, it had this eery atmosphere, griping story and a pretty fun gameplay mechanic that allowed you to wall-run and do a lot of crazy combo strings, it also let you rewind time to approach different scenarios. So I would be hyped to see a remake of these games on the next generation consoles being PS5 and Xbox Series X. Yeah, there was a remastered version, but I’m talking about a full on remake. If Resident Evil 2 can resurge like that and be critical praised for how it reinvigorated the IP, then the Prince of Persia deserves it too.
Truth be told, I’d also settle for the Prince of Persia 2008 reboot of the game on the Switch and other consoles if Ubisoft doesn’t want to touch the IP. Still, needs something aside from Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy so might as well add the Prince in the mix
