One of the gossips I’ve heard online is the idea that Nintendo is planning to release or announce a 4K Nintendo Switch Pro in 2020, to compete with the PS5 and Xbox Series X. This has been met with a lot of skepticism of the possibility of a newer and more powerful handled from Nintendo, almost three years after the release of the mainline Switch.

Here’s all the information we know about this elusive Switch Pro, according to GamesRadar who talked to an analyst that successfully predicted the Switch Lite, they claimed that there’s “absolutely no doubt” that Nintendo will launch a Switch Pro with 4K support in 2020. Now, as an avid Nintendo fan myself who proudly owns a Switch, I welcome this new addition to the market and think that it’s a smart move from Nintendo. The Switch has proven to the world that people do enjoy playing full console games on the go, and so to improve the power of the Switch will make it an enticing option for people when it comes to picking up new next-gen consoles.

Now in terms of it being “too soon for a new Switch”, look no further than to the PS4 Pro, which was released on November 10th, 2016, exactly three years after the original PS4 dropped on 15 November 2013. The same can be said with the Xbox One X, which came out on November 7th, 2017, four years after the Xbox One on 22 November 2013. So as you can see, it’s not only in line with how upgraded versions of previous consoles were released, but it’s right on the mark.

So now that we’ve got that under wraps, all that’s left is speculating when this bad boy will be released. We know for a fact that Nintendo won’t be dropping their console in November, as that’s PlayStation and Xbox territory and since the Switch came out in March, it’s my educated guess that the Nintendo Switch Pro might be released in the Spring season after been announced sometime in January – early February! With the blueprint that they have with the Switch, it’s almost exciting to see what this new Switch Pro can do.

Let me know your thoughts on the matter! Are you excited about a new Switch or are you passing on the gadget?
