Yeah, I said it! I watched the episode and was extremely disappointed with how Mirio’s Sacrifice scene was handled in the My Hero Academia.

What should have been an amazing animated moment showing Mirio’s struggle against Overhaul instead ended up been a slideshow of the manga panels in colour. Look, when I read that chapters years ago, I was stunned by how weighted that moment was for me. Seeing Mirio’s have his dreams destroyed was crazy, so I knew when the time came for it to be animated, it would be glorious.

However what we got was just disappointing. I know animation ain’t easy, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the art. However there’s no way you can tell me that that scene was heat. I felt nothing but disappointing as the slideshow took place. I really don’t know what happened. Was the budget tight? Did they think that doing it that way would convey a stronger emotions? Oh maybe what we thought to be an extremely pivotal moment for us, may not have been one for the author or the animators. Who knows! I was just expecting something better.
