One of the MMO’s that I have personally been looking forward to seeing is Ashes of Creation, a unique take on the MMO experience in which the world structure is built to be dynamic and react to the actions of players, creating a unique experience. However, over the last two years, I can’t say I’m impressed with what I’ve observed with Intrepid Studios. With a lot of their attention seemingly going to this battle royale game called Apocalypse that nobody asked for, hidden under the guise of “testing for main MMO components”, I gotta ask, did we get scammed?

I say this of course under the impression of speculation as nothing is certain until we see some result or statements, but over the past two years of this game’s announcement to the world, we haven’t really seen much news about the MMO side of things. Even their Node series has taken a massive backseat to this BR game that they’ve been developing for the alleged purpose of the MMO. At first I didn’t mind this BR thing, thinking that it’s a clever way to test combat for the game, however, now with the focus on BR becoming more and more apparent, it begs one to question if we’ll ever see a concrete sign of progress being made to the MMO game. The reason why we cared about Intrepid Studios in the first place.

Ashes-of-Creation

I’m not the only one who feels this way about Intrepid Studios current lack of commitment and communication with the MMO. From the comment section of their recent videos, to people allegedly being kicked off the Discord start for expressing their concern, it seems that many have begun to wonder if their investment to this game is been put to good use. More often you’ll see new updates for BR and microtransaction that is quite frankly absurd, making you wonder if they’ve abandoned the plan to make an MMO altogether.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions, however, I have to state the facts that I have observed and share it with you guys, the one’s who I initially made a blog talking about my hype for the game, which has now almost died from lack of updates and assurance of its existence. I’ve heard that there should be an update coming near the end of the year so I’m hoping that it involves nothing but MMO updates and a clear window of release for the game. Otherwise, it’s a scam in my eyes.

Let me know what you guys think abut this current situation?
