I’ve been playing the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare game on the weekends, mostly the campaign mode as I didn’t feel like getting massacred on multiplayer just yet. Just like any egotistical gamer out there, I chose the highest difficulty available for the campaign (I ain’t no bitch), and the experience has been unreal.
I’m telling you, playing CoD:MW on the highest difficulty called Realism, is perhaps the greatest way to truly experience the story mode in Modern Warfare, which in of itself is an amazing story. It’s the most fun I’ve had in any Call of Duty game to date. Realism essentially, away all HUD and makes headshots a one-hit kill. Heck, every shot in this difficulty feels fatal which forces you to plan ahead and move tactically, and with the added confusion of not nothing where the shot is coming from and every spot feeling unsafe, it gives you this level of immersion you wouldn’t be able get if you kept the HUD on.
Every decision you make, every step you take feels intense as all hell and really puts you in the shoes of the soldiers you’re playing. You are forced relying on your teammates, sights and hearing alone to determine where your enemies are lurking, plan your position and utilize the “corner-peek” more often. Basically, run and gun tactics just won’t cut it in this mode.
I highly suggest trying it out for yourself if you have the game but be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart.
