I finally took a glance at this new The Witcher series that coming to Netflix. As someone who only played the The Witcher 3, I’m not too familial with the early days of Geralt, however, knowing that the series adapting the books and going about it their own way, it’s safe to say that you won’t have to worry about the TV show not following the game counterpart.

The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. The Witcher is an upcoming American-Polish fantasy drama TV series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix. It is based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. I mean so far it looked pretty cool, I’m not sure just how faithful this series will be to the book, but judging from the reaction, I’d say it’s doing a pretty good job of it. I guess we’ll just have to wait in order to see how the first season will capture the masses.

I think them adapting the books was a much smarter decision, as it will give them room to venture out and try new ways of re-telling the story while ensuring that the gamers who’ve played the games can rest easier knowing that they won’t butcher their favorite franchise. If you’ve read the books however, well, hopefully it won’t disappoint you guys.
