Cyberpunk 2020 creator Mike Pondsmith decided to once and for all address some of the growing outrage over Cyberpunk 2077.

Ever since Cyberpunk 2077 came into existence to the public, there’s been a small minority constantly creating misguided outrage in how the game has been handled. This has since been growing over time and with the recent E3 press conference revealing more information about the game, that outrage multiplied. This promoted Cyberpunk 2020 creator and Co-Creator of Cyberpunk 2077 Mike Pondsmith to respond to these outages on reddit.

From allegedly having racist gangs to alleged transgender misrepresentation, Cyberpunk 2077 has been attacked from all angles imaginable. Due to this, Mike Pondsmith took to reddit, as he is known to be quite semi-active there under the name therealmaxmike, and responded to a number of outlandish claims made by other users. Here are some of the examples:

Of course, if there’s something wrong in a game that clearly steps over the boundary we should speak out, but with the game not even being out for us to see in its full context, jumping to conclusion like this will not help anyone. Nevertheless, I’m not sure if Mike should even be responding to these people, as the more you talk to them and acknowledge them, the stronger they become. It’s frustrating to say the least.

I talked about this in a video I made in more detail, given you guys my thoughts and opinion on this controversy but this is getting out of hand. Most, if not all of the outrage have been misguided, getting to the point of absurdity. Mike even had to defend CDPR and their work on CyberPunk 2077 . It doesn’t help that certain journalist and news sites have been writing what one could see as “hit piece” on CyberPunk 2077, further adding fuel to this already disgusting fire. People feel like everything has to be on a weird checklist now, and by missing even one, constitute them attacking a game.

I’ll say the same this I said in my video, can we please wait to see what the game is going to be like as a whole BEFORE jumping on that hate train?
