While I may be immersively envious & hurt that Phantasy Star Online 2 is skipping my region, with no assurance as to how long we will have to wait, nevertheless at least it’s finally broken the chains that bind it to Japan.

This was probably the second best highlight from the Xbox conference. This is an MMO that I’ve wanted to see come to the west for such a long ass time. It only to like eight years but it’s finally here. The English language version of the game is coming to Xbox One and PC, with all the content and boss battles that the game has accumulated over years. The best part of it all, it’s all going to be free-to-play! Look, I don’t know about you, but VPN’s is looking kinda nice right about now.

Now there is a couple of questions that I’d like to know the answer. Will the graphics of the game be overhauled to capture new consumers to this MMO or are they banking on the fact that the name alone is sufficient to draw them in? The game looks good, but a 2012 game is still a 2012 game. This is something that isn’t too uncommon when it comes to games from Japan making their way to the West. Sometimes, the entire game mechanics are tweaked in fear of it being too alien for the west. Maybe that’s why it took them so long.

Anyways, I’m hype as hell and I look forward to seeing more in the future about Phantasy Star Online 2.
