The Rising of the Shield Hero Episode 21 – Naofumi’s Triumphant Return REVIEW

After Naofumi survives thanks to Mirelia’s help, she comes to visit him and tells him the truth behind the summoning of the heroes and the discrimination against the Shield Hero. She also promises to clear his name, and holds a trial for Aultcray and Myne’s crimes. The Rising of the Shield Hero Episode 21 is what we have been waiting for since the first episode, justice for the boy.

Man this was probably the most satisfying episode of The Rising of the Shield Hero yet. After all that shit that Naofumi went through, he finally got to prove his innocence to the public. Myne, or should I say Bitch got exposed for the pathological liar that she is and the King, aka Trash got what he deserved. Despite all that, and the promise of execution, Naofumi couldn’t bring himself to see it through, so he instead decided to spare their lives, but in return will have to be stripped of their royal title and be given the new names we see above. For Myne, she got two names though, Bitch and Slut. Man, that was rich to me.

With his name finally cleared and Naofumi decided to continue on his journey to save the world from the Waves, refusing to take any rewards from the Queen. Now, correct me if I’m wrong but they still never addressed why the Kingdom hated the Shield Hero so I’m hoping they’ll do that soon.Overall, there isn’t much to say about the episode. We got what we wanted. Naofumi’s name has been cleared, Myne and the King have been exposed and all is well. Of course, I feel like there’s more to this. I know Myne’s not about to take this embarrassment lying down so she’s going be doing something about it.

  1. It’s been addressed indirectly. The shield hero is seen as a hero amongst the demi-races, while the kingdom has a human supremacist attitude. Which is why the shield is hated in the kingdom.
