So, it seems I’m not the only one that picked up on Okoye’s line during her virtual meeting with Nathalia. If out speculations are true, Black Panther 2 might feature Namor the Sub-Mariner and the Atlanteans.

That’s what rumors in these cyber streets suggests anyways. It makes sense from a narrative point since as it would bring an interesting viewpoint of two heroes fighting each other, who also happen to be Kings of their respective nations. A cinematic war, all based on politics and the ramifications of representing sovereign nations is something that would be a first in the MCU. I’m assuming that this sequel will be loosely based on the New Avengers #7 to some degree.

I mean, they’re probably not going to introduced a Phoenix-controlled Namor in the MCU, but if they do something in the lines of either one of sovereignty killing an ambassador to spark an international war, that’ll be enough. Judging from the way Okoye was describing the tremor in the African plate, she sounded quite scarred of the Atlanteans which would imply that the Atlanteans are one of the few only threat to Wankanda. Now here’s what I’d like to see.

In the comics, T’Challa is ruthless when it comes to protecting his kingdom, and we saw a glimpse of that in Civil War. However, that same Black Panther hasn’t made an appearance since then. If T’Challa is to hang with the likes of Namor, who has in his entire history only cared about his people and will wage war on a whim, then T’Challa will need to toughen up and really act as King of Wakanda. People will die in this war, they’ve have in past comics so I don’t expect any less from the movie counterpart.

Overall, a movie based on two kingdoms clashing sounds like a real great idea.
