Looks like 2019 might really be the year of dope anime as I just learned of another one that’s dropping this year called Vinland Saga, a Japanese historical manga series written and drawn by award-winning manga author Makoto Yukimura set in Dane-controlled England at the start of the 11th century.

As some who’s fan of all things history, when I learned that there’s an anime that all about historical, you know that I gotta get in on it, without hesitation.

Vinland Saga features the Danish invaders of England commonly known as Vikings. The story combines a dramatization of King Cnut the Great’s historical rise to power with a revenge plot centered on the historical explorer Thorfinn, the son of a murdered ex-warrior.

For a thousand years, the Vikings have made quite a name and reputation for themselves as the strongest families with a thirst for violence. Thorfinn, the son of one of the Vikings’ greatest warriors, spends his boyhood in a battlefield enhancing his skills in his adventure to redeem his most-desired revenge after his father was murdered.

It goes without saying that the animation of this anime looks incredible and I can already tell I’m going to like this anime with the amount of bloodshed and fighting that probably going to take place. Check out the trailer below:
