Look, I saw Deadpool, animated & Netflix all in one sentence with some dope looking screenshots so I had to talk about it. It seems that Directors Tim Miller (Deadpool) & David Fincher (The Social Network, Seven) have decided to focus on creating some adult-themed animations that will be exclusively available on Netflix.

The series will be a collection of 18 animated short stories that span the science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy genres.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

“Love, Death & Robots is my dream project,” says Miller, who will exec produce with Fincher, Jennifer Miller and Josh Donen. “It combines my love of animation and amazing stories. Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part. I’m so fucking excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation.”

As someone who’s naturally a fan of anything animation, I’m honestly excited to me what these guys will bring to the table. The screenshots alone look enticing themselves but knowing that they’ll be aimed who adults makes them even better. I mean damm, one look at these screenshots and you can tell Tim Miller & David Fincher are not planning on holding back anything. Netflix has been seriously putting a lot more emphasis on animated shows over the past few months and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.

No word yet on when this new anthology will drop, but I’ll keep y’all posted on it.
