Here’s a twist I surely did not expect to see coming, Sony Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has emerged as Oscar Frontrunner. This film is sounding more and more amazing, and I’m super happy about it.
According to Cartoon Brew,
The film’s status as Oscar frontrunner for Best Animated Feature was confirmed over the weekend when four different critics organizations — Chicago Film Critics Association, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, New York Film Critics Online, and the San Francisco Film Critics Circle — named it as their best animated film of the year. The awards capped off a stellar week for the film in which it was also nominated for a Golden Globe and seven Annie Awards, the latter being tied for the most Annie nominations of any non-Disney production.
I was already planning on seeing the movie when I first saw the trailer, but now I’M REALLY GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE. From every angle, this Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is getting nothing but stellar reviews and I didn’t expect this at all but I’m glad that it is indeed. Of course, I will temper my hype to a low degree as I don’t want to over-hype the movie and create this unrealistic expectation. Expect a review and impression from me very soon.
