A couple of days ago, Ubisoft released their first Assassin’s Creed mobile game called Assassin’s Creed mobile and at first glance, it may look like a copy of Fallout Shelter, but once you get your hands on it and play it, you’ll realize there’s more to the game itself.
Assassin’s Creed Rebellion is the official mobile Strategy-RPG of the Assassin’s Creed universe. It follows the Spanish Assassins under Aguilar de Nerha during the Spanish Inquisition. The game features notable Assassins such as Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Shao Jun, Claudia Auditore, and Niccolò Machiavelli, along with more than 30 new characters to unlock created exclusively for Rebellion.
In Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, you are able to forge your own Brotherhood and take up to three assassin’s at a time to take own various missions. Outside of that, the game allows to up build up and upgrade a lot of things, from the individual assassins to the base of operations itself. Currently, I can’t speak much on how free to play friendly this game is at the moment as I am in the early stages of Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, but judging from what I have experienced, the game seems to reward early play pretty well.
The game offers different skills and character combinations which allows you to approach some missions differently than others. And I will admit, it’s kinda fun. It’s not an in-depth feature but it does get you thinking on how best to deal with a certain situation. Do you sneak past the guard, assassinate him (my favorite way) or straight up fight them. There’s also traps to consider as well. There’s three classes in Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, Enforcer, Shadow, and Specialist, each divided into 9 sub-categories to permit for further role specialization.
In addition, the type of missions completed will have an effect on how the Assassins develop: standard missions are key for gathering resources to upgrade the player’s Assassins, while Loot missions will earn materials for crafting. New Assassins are unlocked by collecting their DNA fragments in Story or Legacy missions.
I’m surprised, so far this game is pretty solid but I’ll have to see how the game shapes up once you get past the honeymoon face of any gacha game. The only downside I would say is that if you’re not a fan of the Assassin’s creed series, then these gacha that you summon may not mean anything to you. You’d have to have some level of knowledge of the assassin’s creed lore to fully appreciate some of the assassins that you’ll end up summoning.
Overall, a decent gacha game and worth trying out. The graphics aren’t bad, in fact in my opinion they’re pretty good and the soundtrack really has that Assassin’s Creed vibe to it. The game is available on both Android and iOS.
