So word on these cyber streets is that Netflix is hellbent on taking over our TV’s and other media platforms with these Anime adaptation. And honestly, I’m all for it. Pacific Rim and Altered Carbon anime shows are coming to Netflix and since yours truly has seen both of these movies shows, I’m quite curious on how they’ll re-tell the story in anime form.

Netflix has been on a mission to bring more anime shows to its platform, realizing the popularity of this media. According to Deadline:

  • Pacific Rim, which expands the world of the two live-action movies of the same name, returns to the epic battle of Kaiju and Jaegers. The original anime series follows two siblings — an idealistic teenage boy and his naïve younger sister — who are forced to pilot an abandoned Jaeger across a hostile landscape in a desperate attempt to find their missing parents. Co-showrunners are Craig Kyle (Thor:Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution). The series comes from Legendary Entertainment (Kong: Skull Island; Pokemon: Detective Pikachu) pacific-rim-uprising-5120x2880-pacific-rim-2-2018-4k-8k-12325
  • Set in the same universe as the Netflix-live-action sci-fi series — which is currently in production — Altered Carbon will explore new elements of the story mythology. The series comes from the animation studio, Anima and will be written by Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Tsukasa Kondo.alteredcarbon-4-1280-1532728112856_1280w

I think this move is a great way to introduce more people into the world of anime and make it more mainstream than it already is at the moment.
