So this episode of Attack On Titan Season 3 Episode 12 (49) really did a great job in relaying the emotions that the scouts are feeling as they prepare to take back Wall Maria…but I still was not prepared for that ending that came about.

So, where do I even begin with this episode. It all started out so innocently. As Erwin, Hange and the rest of the leaders gather to discuss the fluid that grants Titan powers, they learn that once exposed to the air, it immediately evaporates. So after much discussion, they decide to entrust the serum to Levi so that he’d will be able to make use of it when the time came. I was thinking about how Levi could actually make use of that serum in general. Last time I checked, the moment you inject that serum into a human, they become a titan forever, unless they eat another human with Titan powers. So it’ll be interesting to see how he’ll use it.

Anyways, moving on from that scene, we get to the Scouts as they gather for a feisty feast before leaving to retake Wall Maria to uncover what’s hidden in the basement once and for all. This scene had me laughing. From seeing these guys lose their shit from seeing meat, Sasha turning into straight up cannibal, to seeing Eren and Jean go at it, it all made me laugh out loud.

What I liked about this episode is how it got me feeling all this types of emotions, the same emotions that the scouts must be feeling as well. And that’s including anxiety. Yep, because I am a viewer to their lives, I knew this sense of joy was a facade. And they knew it too. It also hit me when Arwin was talking to Eren about the big sea, Eren acted a bit weird. It actually dawned on me that Eren now has memories of his father, who was at one point outside the walls. He knew something because it. Maybe the world is more messed up than we thought.

Anyways, it wasn’t until the end of the episode that really got me messed up. Aside from the fact that Reiner and what I thought was Bertholdt standing there like bosses. When that credit started glitching and I saw Eren, Mikasa and Levi all messed up and fighting each other, I was confused as a fuck. Like, WHAT? Bruh, I hate these cliffhangers man, they always get me. What could have happened? Did what they see in the basement unlock their true memories of the world and they lost it? Nah, I can’t wait to finally learn the secrets of the basement.
