Can I be the first to say that i didn’t even know that Amazon was making original films and series. I mean , I was aware of Prime video but for that knowledge to escape me is wild. Anyway, Prime has teased its original series, Good Omens. I never knew an Angel and a Demon could ever be friends, let alone live in Britain of all places. And now these two friends have tasked themselves in preventing the end of the world, solely so that they can live on Earth. This already sounds funny as hell to me!

Good Omens is an upcoming six-part television serial based on the 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The series will be directed by Douglas Mackinnon and written by Gaiman, who will also serve as showrunner. The series will star David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale trying to prevent the Apocalypse.

It is the coming of the End Times: the Apocalypse is near, and Final Judgement will soon descend upon the human species. This comes as a bit of bad news to the angel Aziraphale (who was the guardian of the Eastern Gate of Eden) and the demon Crowley (who, when he was originally named Crawly, was the serpent who tempted Eve to eat the apple), respectively the representatives of Heaven and Hell on Earth, as they have become used to living their cosy, comfortable lives and have, in a perverse way, taken a liking to humanity.

As such, since they are good friends (despite ostensibly representing the polar opposites of Good and Evil), they decide to work together and keep an eye on the Antichrist, destined to be the son of a prominent American diplomat stationed in Britain, and thus ensure he grows up in a way that means he can never decide between Good and Evil, thereby postponing the end of the world.

It looks interesting enough and has this funny charm to it. The concept seems interesting enough so I might give it a shot when it airs. Check out the trailer below.
