If you’re a fan of Fallout, The Witcher 3, GTA5, and Deus Ex then you’ll be happy to know that Cyberpunk 2077 will be the game for you!

Here’s a fresher course if you’ve forgotten what this game will be all about:

Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith’s classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.

Thanks to E3 and Ars Techinca, we got so much more information to wet our appetite for the game until it releases or until we see more gameplay. From what was talked about in the blog, it seems this game is going to be an RPG player dream game. From customizing every aspect of your character, including their backstory to multitude of branching story lines, this game is aiming to take the throne as the King of RPGs.

Initially, I wasn’t too thrilled on the idea of it being a first person shooter game but after reading up and watching the livestreams, it became easier to forgive. Cyberpunk has a reputation feature which will play a huge factor on how you’ll be approached in the city. Every action you preform will have a positive or negative effect and your character will be treated accordingly. This also ties in to the branching dialogue responses. So basically it’s like street cred which sounds dope as hell.

Accordng to Ars Techinca:

Cyberpunk 2077 diverges from that series in a few major ways, and the first is with brutal high-speed gunplay. This is a first-person shooter, full-stop, as played through the lens of bio-enhancements and high-tech, black-market weaponry. In one brutally impressive example of the C2077 difference—an answer-in-execution of why the Witcher team swapped to twitchier first-person combat—V pulled up a heat-scan interface, saw a foe through a wall, and used her high-tech HUD to map the trajectory of her buckshot’s ricochet. Our demo’s host pulled the trigger, and our shot bounced perfectly off a corner and filled our foe with lead.

Everything other than V’s name will be up to you. In addition to a full suite of cosmetic options, you’re asked to put points in six D&D-style trait categories: strength, constitution, reflex, intelligence, tech, and “cool.” And you must answer three “origin story” questions: what brought you to future-LA’s Night City neighborhood, who’s your childhood hero, and what was a key life event. (Each of those questions has three possible answers, and the current, unfinished rubric showed some vague answers. That Night City question, for example, has answers about an ex-lover, “unfinished business,” and “something to prove.”)

Hearing all of that has really gotten me all hyped up to see more.
