Am I the only one who feels like the Digimon Tri movies hasn’t lived up to the hype? I mean don’t get me wrong, the movies a visually stunning, but as of late it feels like the pacing has gotten extremely slow!

To give a quick synopsis:

It’s been six years since that summer adventure when Taichi Yagami and the rest of the DigiDestined crossed over to the Digital World. And nearly three years have passed since the final battle between Hikari Yagami’s group and BelialVamdemon. As the peaceful days passed by, at some point the gate to the Digital World closed. Not even the DigiDestined know what caused this, and time alone continues to pass.

I know that there’s another movie on the way that could easily destroy everything I’m about to say but honestly I still want to talk about it. For me these Digimon movies haven’t lived up to my expectations. With each movie, I gradually lost interested, to the point of me dropping it completely. This could easily have been my fault. Maybe I had too high of an expectation. Maybe my nostalgia blinded me for a good minute and I couldn’t see the wanted the creators wanted me to see.

I understand that these movies have an heavy focus on the coming of age story and it really dives into the psychological effects of the being trapped in another world, fighting a war they never had any business been a part of but it’s really dragging on at this point.

I’m really hoping that Digimon Adventure tri. Movie 6: Our Future picks up the pacing of this story. Digimon Adventure tri. Movie 6: Our Future will be released in Japan on May 5th, 2018 so it’s not too far off now.

Let me know your thoughs on the pacing of this six part movie?
