Been watching a lot of anime as of late, with some been excellent and other been….well forgettable. So I wanted to share with guys some of my top picks for Anime Spring 2018!
DARLING in the FRANXX
First up on the list is DARLING in the FRANXX. When I started watching DARLING in the FRANXX, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew at the time was that is was visually stunning and the animation was amazing. Little did I know how captivating the story was going to be. It tell a coming of age story but with a unique twist that will leave you rooting for these kids before you know it. It safe to say that this anime will trigger some type of emotion and reaction from you in some form or shape. It’s definitely my top pick so far.
PERSONA5 the Animation
Another one is PERSONA5 the Animation. Probably the most visually impressive of this list, PERSONA5 the Animation carries itself with grace and elegance, anime-wise. It an anime based on a video game and so far I’m really enjoying it. So much so that I’m planning on playing the game to get the full experience. Not that wouldn’t be able to by just watching the anime.
MEGALOBOX
Next up is MEGALOBOX. This anime as of this writing only has three episode under its belt and already it’s making waves. MEGALOBOX is a story about a junk dog looking to find themselves in a desolate land that stretches out from the city of poverty. It’s a simple yet captivating story that’ll definitely leave you wanting more. It themes a retro style visual to its looks while merging a futuristic dystopia world. The main character himself is already a pretty dope guy and the way that they carry out fights in this anime is beyond epic. Definitively one to keep a eye out.
Tokyo Ghoul: re
Tokyo Ghoul: re is another that makes it to my list. For a while now I’ve been waiting for Tokyo Ghoul to come back so when I heard of Tokyo Ghoul: re, suffice to say I was thrilled. This story follows Haise Sasaki who has been tasked with teaching Qs Squad how to be outstanding investigators, but his assignment is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his students and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. It’s an interesting take on the Ghoul story but I like it. Worth the watch.
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody
Last but not least, we got Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody. If you’re into fantasy, MMO type anime with a bit of slice of life and action thrown in, then give this anime a shot. The anime follows Satou aka Ichiro Suzuki, a programmer in the middle of a death march. While working on his game, he somehow wakes up in another world. What follw is a slice of life adventure filled with some light-hearted humor.
And that’s it! Of course there are a ton of anime that were released in Spring but these are my top 5. Let me know your pick for anime spring 2018.
