Assassin’s Creed Origins was a breath of fresh air to an already stale franchise. It brought back my love for the series and reminded me my I became a fan of the assassin’s. AC:Origins answered a lot of the questions fans had about the origins of the Assassin’s and now “The Hidden One” takes four years after the main game to show us how Bayek created the Creed.

The Brotherhood story continues with the Hidden Ones, four years after the main game’s ending. Years after the birth of the Brotherhood, Bayek is called to the Sinaï Peninsula to investigate a clash between a rebel faction and occupying Roman forces. During his investigation and journey, Bayek must shape the code that will one day be known as the Assassin’s Creed.

Sinaï Peninsula offered ways to traverse the map and tackle missions. With its steep mountains, sneaking around became a challenge, not in a bad way, but more of  “damm, I gotta sneak around here to approach this guy or they’ll see me” type of challenge. You had to plan your course of action to succeed in a mission. And it was fun.

Like all the regions before it, Sinaï Peninsula is breath-taking and extremely detailed. Playing in on my PC was amazing. I couldn’t help but to stop and admire the scenery from time to time. It’s times like this I wonder how in the hell this game didn’t win awards during the Games Awards. Actually there’s a video titled We Take Assassins Creed For Granted that does an excellent job in explaining why we shouldn’t look down or disregard the AC series. What Ubisoft have accomplished with Origins should be recognized and praised in my opinion.

This first expansion brings new content to Assassin’s Creed Origins with a mission that takes you deeper into the story of the Brotherhood’s formation. You get to explore the beautiful region of Sinaï and meet new characters that will show you a whole new perspective of the Brotherhood.

The story so far has been very captivating and sets up a great narrative for Bayek’s journey in creating the Creed. The characters you’ll encounter are all very interesting and fun to watch. Oh, and did I mention how much I like Bayek’s and Aya’s new look and design? No? OK, well I like it a lot. They look dope as hell and really makes them look like the Assassin’s we’ve come to know today.

The story dived deeper into the Egyptian-Roman relation and the oppression these Romans are inflicting on the Egyptian residents. As a fan of history, I found it all to be very interesting and amazing. The fact that we are able to see it for ourselves is a great treat.

Overall, from what I’ve played, I’m very pleased with how all it turned out. It gave me what I wanted, and that is to see how the Brotherhood came to be and the steps that Bayek and Aya had to take to create it. Hopefully we’ll learn more about the infamous “The Order” and how they turned into the Templar too.
