The year 2018 is looking to be the most packed year for gaming, especially for anime fans such as myself, from Dragon Ball FighterZ to One Piece World Seeker, there’s something for everyone. It’s even gotten to the point that fans have dubbed the year, “The Year of Anime”. So today I present to you my list of top anime games that I am personally looking forward to playing in 2018.

Now keep in mind as I do know how the anime community can get when it comes to these ranking. This does not represent the quality of the game but rather my overall hype for the game and what they’ve shown to us. So with that disclaimer outta the way, lets get right into the list.

5. One Piece: World Seeker

What’s interesting about this is that World Seeker wouldn’t have even made it on my list if I hadn’t taken a look at the first official trailer. However, after seeing that trailer, it immediately shot up my list as one of my anticipated anime games of 2018.

One Piece: World Seeker is new open-world action-adventure that lets players “wage battles in an expansive and seamless world filled with castles, cities, beaches, and more exciting and diverse locations.” Seeing that gameplay and how Luffy traversed the landscape actually had me almost considering catching up to the anime. It looked smooth and fun and I do like me a good adventure game so I’m keeping my eye on this game.

4. My Hero Academia: One’s Justice

As you guys know from following this blog, I love My Hero Academia and would consider it one of the top five anime of 2017. You can imagine my excitement when I heard that the anime is finally getting a video game adaptation.  My Hero Academia: One’s Justice is a 3D battle action video game developed by Byking.

In the game you’ll be able to experience diverse battles through realistic stage destruction by using superhuman powers called ‘Quirks,’ and take full advantage of the buildings and walls placed throughout the stage. Now I’ll be honest, even though I’m quite hyped for the game, I can’t help but feel skeptical of the gameplay. I’m getting a strong Burning Blood vibe from it and I wasn’t the biggest fan of that game. Anyways, it’s to early too judge the game now, I’m just glad we got something.

3. Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker

original

Ever since the reveal of Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker, the recpetion for this title, for the most part has been quite divided. One side of the fan base has stayed optimistic for the future of the game, while the other side has dismissed the game, seeing it as just another trash game on the market. As for me, after playing the beta, I can see a lot of potential for this game being great. That is, if the developer take their survey and beta seriously.

NARUTO TO BORUTO: SHINOBI STRIKER is an upcoming multiplayer online video game that allow players to go head-to-head in 4 versus 4 battles, with all eight players fighting simultaneously. This game will also let you create your own characters. Graphically, SHINOBI STRIKER is also built from the ground up in a completely new graphic style which I like a lot. It feels like your inside a living manga. I look forward to seeing how this game will progress in the future.

2. Black Clover: Quartet Knights

BlackClover

Here’s the funny thing about this game. I was very sceptical of this game when it was first announced. I was like “how in the hell is Black Clover getting a game after only a dozen episodes online”? But now after catching up with the anime IN DUBS, I can safely save that I am quite hyped for this game.

Black Clover: Quartet Knights is a “magic action shooting game” is coming to PS4 and PC worldwide in 2018. It’s a 4vs4 third-person magic shooter that will feature “highly strategic maps” and “character-unique magic. The trailer from what I’ve seen looked really, really hype so I’m looking forward to seeing more in the future. Watch the anime too, its dope!

1 .Dragon Ball FighterZ

You already know what’s up. The most anticipated anime fighting game in 2018 is also my most anticipated game in terms of anime games in general. This game has shown so much promise of the past few months. From the attention to detail, spectacular visuals and solid fun gameplay, this will bring those who never played a fighting game in their life and it will make them appreciate both the genre and the anime.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is an upcoming Dragon Ball video game developed by Arc System Works and published by Bandai Namco for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows via Steam. And its a game I feel like everyone should keep an eye out for in 2018.

Well that’s my list. Do you agree or disagree? Let me know in the comments below your anime game list for 2018.
