Marvel gives us our first look at the new animated series of Spider-Man, going back to his origins as a hero fighting crime in NYC but things quickly take a turn for the worse….

I’m just gonna get the elephant out of the room first, the animation is beyond trash. Yes, I’m fully aware that this is a show aimed at children but even if that were to be the case, it’s no excuse for it ending up the way it did now.  The animation looks jiff and jaggy, the background have barely, if any, details to it and because of that it make the world feel two dimensional and lifeless. It almost feels like the rushing this cartoon out to get ready for the Spider-Man Homecoming movie that’s dropping out this summer and ride the hype train.

I’m a 90’s kid who grew up with Spider-Man cartoons and those where superb for their time, heck go back and watch the Spectacular Spider-Man and you’ll see what I mean. Shows back then would easily pass the test of time. You’d expect that as technology grows and evolves, they’d at least be able to produce something that matches with the time but I guess not. The humor was also kinda bland in my opinion but we only saw a couple of minutes of the show so I’ll reserve my judgement for now.

Here’s the trailer, let me know your thoughts on it.
