So word on the virtual street is that Spyro might be making a major come back during E3 2017, as potential post has hinted that the purple dragon might be coming to the PlayStation 4, but what will it be exactly….

So if you’re wondering why the sudden talk about Spyro making a return to the PlayStation platform, well it all started with this image here.

A couple of days ago, PlayStation Netherlands Facebook account posted this image with the caption “and the 12 points goes to“, and people have begun speculating that this could be a hint of a potential announcement for a Spyro game. It also doesn’t help that since Crash Bandicoot is set to have his remastered game release next month, it’s only natural that Spyro the Dragon should get his first three games remastered as well seeing as these two were THE most iconic characters on PlayStation.

Now I personally would KILL for a Spyro remastered game as I truly believe he deserves one at this point but there’s also talks that the hint could be referring to another game, that game been the sequel to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was a crossover fighting video game developed by SuperBot Entertainment, in conjunction with SCE Santa Monica Studio. When the game was first announced, most of us where expecting to see Crash and Spyro as playable character but were later disappointed to see that it wasn’t the case. You can thank “Activision” for that.

Anyways, since the game did quite well, with critics praising the game’s multiplayer and fighting mechanics, but criticized it on its lack of content and few cut scenes, there might be a chance that we might see a sequel at E3 2017. Seeing that people are craving the return of Spyro, (Skylander doesn’t count), I wouldn’t be surprised to see something related to Spyro at E3 2017.

However, they could even go one step further and announce a reboot to the Spyro franchise, introducing a 5 year arc or something like that to were they’ll create a brand new experience for both new comers and old school fans to enjoy. With all that said and done, the most probable outcome to happen is the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale sequel . The reason why I’m saying that it might be PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2 is because out of the three things I mentioned, it’s the one with the least risk.

I mean they could’ve made a brand new Crash game but they played it safe and introduced the remaster, banking on out nostalgia to sell the game. I’m not saying that if Sony did a new game for either Crash or Spyro it would tank, but as a business, Sony’s probably looked at the market and saw that a remaster would do far better. Anyways if a PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2 is in the works, I’d be cool with it since I enjoyed the first one. All I want is more content and more characters and it’s all good.

Let me know your thoughts on the whole Spyro returning from the grave deal? Do you thinks its happening or are people just dreaming too far?
