Another day, another rumor and with E3 2017 on the horizon its no surprise. This time we got some Assassin Creed rumors…..

According to the rumor:

“Our sources suggest that Origins is a vast open world experience taking place in ancient Egypt. The story is rumored to revolve around the original assassin’s guild and will feature two main characters – a man and a woman.

The game will apparently grant the player considerably more freedom, featuring a greater emphasis on exploration over previous entries in the series. One source tells us that this is the biggest Assassin’s Creed the company has ever created and is “huge” in scope. They say that it has been in development for “at least” several years now. Hopefully, it will benefit from this extended development cycle. Naval combat will reportedly also return, allowing players to travel beyond Egypt, possibly even as far as Greece.”

It apparently began by showing scenes of Egypt, before transitioning between different periods and locations throughout history, including an Asian country, WW2 era France, and a modern day Abstergo Industries facility.”

As a fan of the Assassin’s Creed series I can’t help but be worried about this news. Yeah it’s great that we’re going back in time to the origins of the Assassins but once again Ubisoft is promising huge maps and naval combat. I hated the naval combat and when it comes to huge maps, I’m really hoping it won’t just be an empty and glitchy space for us to explore.

However, I am intrigued by the transitioning between different periods and locations throughout history which could keep things fresh. All I want is a tight story and great rewarding exploration, like Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood.

Of course I’ll give them the benefit of  the doubt and see what up but I will take all this with a grain of salt for now.
