Like many of us who’ve watched the movie, we’ve made a conscious decision to skip first few chapters of the manga until it starts showing us some new materials, well in chapter 7 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Manga, we might actually have gotten some new information that gives us a glimpse of what is to come….
First of all let me start by discussing the new design for the final boss. It looks ten times more fierce and deadly than the design in the movie, and that alone already tells us that we can expect the fight to take a different approach than the movie. I would also like to point out that the art-style since Chapter 1 has vastly improved and I’m quite happy about that.
Now lets get right to the main topic of this article. Several pages into the manga, Momoshiki made a statement that raised some eyebrows( my eyebrow to be exact). In that panel, he used his Byakugan to analysis Boruto’s charka and concluded that Boruto is shouldering “quite an interesting fate” and also confirms that Boruto did not receive an ounce of the Tailed Beast chakra from his father. That alone already debunks any possibility of Boruto going Tailed Beast mode in the future.
So what’s the deal here? Why did Momoshiki say those words? Â Did Momoshiki foreshadow the Boruto vs Kawaki fight in the future or is it something else entirely? As far as I’m concerned, the Byakugan cannot see the future in any shape ore form so I don’t believe the former to be the case. The answer lies in Boruto’s chakra. There must be something unique about Boruto’s chakra to have sparked that comment from Momoshiki. Maybe Boruto has inherited a latent ability that awakens when one possess both the Hyuga and the Uzumaki bloodline. Yeah, that one may very well be a stretch but that’s the point of this article, to speculate and discuss.
It could also be related to the strange markings found on Boruto’s body that was first introduced to us in the very first chapter. If you pay attention to the manga, you’ll notice that these strange markings, when activated, responds in a similar fashion as the cursed mark seal, granting its wielder with what I assume is to be a boost in strength,speed, agility etc.
My last theory which is quite a stretch here is that maybe since the Uzumaki clan are a branch from the Senju clan, which are descendants of Hagoromo and the Hyuga clan been decedents of Hamura, it could be possible that both Boruto and Himiwari are candidates in potentially unlocking something not seen centuries, maybe a dulled down version of Kaguya’s powers.
Well admittedly it might too soon to tell what Momoshiki’s words actually mean but I thought it would be fun to at least speculate the future of this manga. So I ask you, the readers, what are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments below.
