Aurion, legacy of the Kori-Odan is an epic action RPG , set in a wonderful African Fantasy world, with a unique, open and dynamic fighting gameplay.
You have probably heard about this game in some way, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter or Google+ or you ran into in on Steam GreenLight but didn’t pay too much attention to it. So what is it and why am I writing about it.
Well Aurion, Legacy of the Kori-Odan is a game thats been developed by Kiro’o Games, who are located in Central Africa and are the first gaming company to be set up in Africa. I wanted to give it a little exposure as the concept of their game has intrigued me and the art style is beautiful. The story is based on African fantasy world and the combat they have shown so far looks great.
Enzo Kori-Odan, Prince of Zama suffers a coup d’état orchestrated by his brother-in-law on the day of his coronation. He decides to travel round the world in order to assemble his Aurionic Legacy and retrieve his throne.
During his quest, he will discover the geopolitical and existential dilemmas attached to his role as future King. He will also have to find answers to secure his people’s destiny.
The story sounds interesting enough, the gameplay itself looks fun and it seems to have a lot of variety and abilities that you can upgrade and master. The idea that we might get a Black protagonist who isn’t depicted as a stereotypical black man who has to curse a lot, acts like thug and says the N-word every few seconds would be nice.
I look forward to seeing what this game has to offer in the future and hope it is successful.
